I was recently contacted by a very sweet mama whose baby girl was one of the gorgeous babes in our photo contest. She has a cousin who is expecting and really wanted to show her all of the new options available in cloth.

I set her up with a sweet little AIO - and she created the most adorable little dress to compliment it!

I just had to share her sweet set creation!

Lanicia made this precious little reversible dress and they make the perfect pair!

A Big Week!

This week, We stocked at the Hyena Cart, We will be stocking at The Enchanted Glen, and we will be participating in 2 charity auctions.

The first is for the daughter of an on-line contemporary of mine whose beautiful little girl, Savannah, who suffers from SPD.

This auction is to raise funds for her medical expenses.

We are also participating in the "Hope for Haiti" event at Hippie Made.
This event supports a missionary trip by another artisan.

Reflections on Earth Week

As Earth Week comes to a close, it seems like the perfect time to reflect a bit on what I do and why I do it. For the love of the planet and each and every living thing upon it.

I recently traveled to Auburn, AL.
While I was there, I noticed this beautiful river cane forest (which totally resembles bamboo).
I just HAD to wander in and get some pics!

I got the shots above and a few other neat ones, but it was on my way out that I stumbled upon possibly the most profound pictures...

I don't know why I was so horrified by it?
Maybe because I know that they will not decompose on their own...?
Maybe because I know that the chemicals inside them were destined to leach into the surrounding area and pose a hazard to the natural beauty...?
Or maybe, just maybe it's because that sight is the embodiment of all that I strive to correct and balance out in this world by creating cloth diapers and incontinence tools.

So - if you've helped save the world even a single pack of 'sposies by using cloth, please pat yourself on the back and accept my heart felt thanks.

I need some help with these lemons....

So Life's tossed me a basket of lemons and I'm whipping up some pie!

Beginning Thursday, March 26 at 10 am we will be having a huge sale on hand made parenting tools in an effort to raise enough money to help my family avoid foreclosure proceedings.

It's a bummer, but it's not keeping us down!

A Little Fantasy for February...?

With a dusting from faeries and the strength of brave knights
The Glen of Enchantment begins twinkling with lights...

And when it's combined with the mind of a child
They frolic and play - imaginations run wild!

With the breath of a dragon and the wave of a wand
Hyenas and pups marveled at the pieces they donned.

I've only got a limited number of Natural fiber diapers scheduled for this year and unfortunately, I'm not sure I will be able to purchase any new materials for a while.

This year brought an economic adjustment for everyone it seems. Many of us find ourselves scaling down our gift budgets this year.
For me, the solution was making gifts!
And the gifts I made my son are fantastic and I have decided to share them with others this season.

Basic Training....

So, we've been developing our Cloth Curious training pants for a few months now.

We knew we wanted a waterproof trainer - something to help parents and babies make the potty learning transition without much stress.

We knew we wanted something that toddlers could pull on and off to help them get the hang of underpants.

We also knew it had to be able to separate - just in case your training includes some accidents. No one wants to risk making a BIGGER mess with #2!

We wanted a pocket, so you could customize your absorbency. And we knew the training toddler had to be able to tell that he or she was wet!

We came up with some of the coolest and most functional training pants on the market today!

The sides are adjustable, stretchy and soft. The stretch on these things is phenomenal - Allowing sizing to be quite simple!

Medium Trainers fit most toddlers from 20 - 35 pounds! (Our 35 pound size tester was in Kindergarten!)
Large Trainers are designed to fit children from 32 pounds ALL the way through 98 pounds!! (and our 98 pound size tester was an adult!!! A skinny 26 year old mama!)

It really helps to take the mystery out of selecting a size!

Oh, where to begin...?
This month I am hard at work creating some neat items for my very first themed stocking on my Hyena cart this October!

I wanted my first themed stocking to be something adorable, gender neutral, and something that I am passionate about - and so, my first choice was clear, my passion for Pandas!

Beyond their uuber cuddly looking exterior and their sweet faces - the Panda is the perfect inspiration for awesome baby products. Their classic colors of black and white are flawless together!

Hello!

This blog is created to give solace to my friends and family (whom I am sure) are sick of me showing them each and every diaper I make and love... LOL

And lately, my inspiration and initiative have been at an all time high, so I've made some really neat stuff.

Hopefully, this will give me a nice place to share pieces that I really love and maybe get some feedback and share progress on how the functional design is improving.

This entire Blog-o-shpere thing is a whole new realm for me, I think myspace has a blog hole too... maybe I should be using it...? Who knows - I'm techno-tarded...
So please bear with me. :)

Oh, and I LOVE to write and share things, so I've decided to share with you a series of Curious Quotes... They're amongst my favorites and always make me think...

I have always loved this quote.
As a curious child myself, I was always nosing into drawers and cabinets in which I didn't belong.
Each new item I discovered became a treasure - each trinket an adventure in itself.
The intricate details of antique jewelry, the ornate boxes that hid them away from sight forcing me to risk punishment for a chance to see or even hold what was inside....

It's that same child-like curiosity that lead me to try cloth diapers.

I knew they were better for the environment.
I knew they had to be healthier for my baby.
Seemed cheaper and like less hassle - if you consider that I'm not going to the store for diapers - uh EVER....

But there was just no way I was folding and pinning and pinning and covering. I'm really not that granola eating hippie that cloth diapers may make you think of - I'm actually more of a counter culture Hurley-wearing mama whose diaper bag is a Harajuku Lovers messenger bag.

There are enough diaper changes in a kid's life that they should be as easy and fun as possible - while still being reliable and leak free.
It's that commitment to functional fun and convenience that fuels each and every item I make.
I want to compel the world to try cloth diapers. I know that as of today - I do not have the capabilities to provide a stash of cloth diapers to the entire world, but I thought I could try to turn as many on as possible. To show as many would-be 'sposie users just how easy and elegant cloth diapering really can be.
